Because of our confidence in our quality, we offer a 18 month warranty. Our marine line of engines are sold with no core deposit.

LIMITED WARRANTY POLICY

18 MONTH, UNLIMITED HOURS WHEN INSTALLED IN A RECREATIONAL BOAT

Parts and factory allowed labor are covered for 18 months from the date of original installation

Engine Replacement : Engine no charge plus parts at JOBBER / MARINE DEALER COST. Labor will be paid by multiplying the prevailing retail labor hourly rate ( not to exceed $40.00 per hour ) used by local marine repair shops by the time shown in the FourStar Marine time schedule. Engines installed by other than qualified marine repair shops will be paid at their hourly rate not to exceed $20.00 per hour.

Field Repairs : For parts, except those furnished by FourStar, reimbursement will be at JOBBER/MARINE DEALER COST. The amount of labor credit for field repairs will be determined by multiplying the prevailing retail labor hourly rate ( not to exceed $40.00 per hour ) used by local marine repair shops by the warranty time shown in the appropriate OEM service manual. No labor reimbursement for field repairs shall exceed $300.00.

STANDARD REIMBURSEMENT RATES FOR PARTS AND LABOR

For parts except those furnished by FourStar, reimbursement will be at JOBBER/MARINE DEALER COST. The amount of labor credit for field repairs will be determined by multiplying the prevailing retail labor hourly rate ( not to exceed $40.00 per hour ) used by local marine repair shops by the warranty time shown in the appropriate OEM service manual. No labor reimbursement for field repairs shall exceed $300.00. The amount of labor credit for field repairs for applications not shown in OEM service manuals shall not exceed $300.00.

HOW REIMBURSEMENT IS MADE

Factory will credit jobber who will run in turn credit installer. All claims are subject to Factory inspections to actual cause of failure determined by remanufacture.

WARRANTY COVERAGE

This warranty does not cover :

(1) Engines that are damaged by abuse,neglect or accident,abnormal operation or improper installation or service.

(2) Fluids,filters,haul-out,launch,towing charges,telephone calls or rental charges.

(3) Loss of time,loss of use of vehicle,inconvenience,commercial loss or consequential damages.

(4) Removal and or replacement of partitions, mounts, hatches or material because of boat design for necessary access to the engine and or parts thereof.

This warranty does not apply under the following conditions :

(5) When engine specified for Marine service is installed in a Passenger car,Pickup,or any vehicle other than a boat.

(6) When engine is operated on any fuels,oils or lubricants which are not suitable for use with the assembly.

(7) When Engine Block or Heads are cracked from overheating or freezing.

(8) When Engine failure is due to burned or melted pistons,broken rings,damage of block,cylinder heads or gaskets from detonation or pre ignition.

(9) When Engine failure is due to lack of lubrication.

(10) When Engine failure is due to thrust bearing damage.

(11) When Engine or part has been improperly installed,or fails because of defects or inefficiency of parts or units not furnished with engine ( such as carburetor, air cleaner, sensors, distributor, cooling system, oil filter, etc ).

(12) When Engine is used for high performance, racing, or other competitive activity or operating with a racing type lower unit.

(13) When Engine and or parts are altered or removed.

(14) When water has entered cylinder(s) through the intake or exhaust systems.

The remanufacturer makes no other warranties, express or implied, including the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a purpose, except as otherwise required by the laws of the state of sale to the customer, and shall not be liable for any damages other than those required by law.

This warranty is voided on those assemblies where an installation certificate is provided and is not completed and sent to the remanufacturer at the time of installation.

This warranty is extended only to the original purchaser and is not transferable.

An Engine or part which is furnished as warranty replacement for a defective engine or part is warranted only for the unexpired time remaining due on the original ( defective ) product.

Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you.

This warranty gives you specific rights,and you may also have other rights, which vary from state to state.
