FOURSTAR  AUTOCOMP REMANUFACTURED ENGINES LIMITED WARRANTY POLICY

FourStar Engines and Parts warrants to the purchaser that FourStar will repair or replace, at FourStar's option, during usual working hours, at the location or installation, any AutoComp remanufactured long block for12 months from the date of installation or 12,000 miles from the vehicle's documented installed mileage, whichever shall first occur, when installed in passenger cars, non-commercial 1/2 or 3/4 ton pickups, vans and 4WD vehicles. Trucks over 3/4 ton and Class B and C recreational vehicles are warranted for 6 months from the date of installation or 12,000 miles from the vehicle's documented installed mileage, whichever shall first occur, with the exceptions stated below.  AutoComp Long Blocks installed on stationary power units, marine applications, industrial units, farm equipment and other off highway units are warranted for 30 days from the date of installation. This warranty coverage includes in-vehicle repairs or engine replacement only at FourStar's option, but does not include any labor to remove or replace the engine assembly. Any authorized repair or replacement must have prior factory approval before any work is started. Any authorized repair to an engine will be credited at Jobber cost on parts with any required labor as per factory time shown on CHILTON'S MANUAL at an hourly rate not to exceed $20.00 dollars per hour. All engine claims are subject to factory inspection as to the actual cause of failure determined by the remanufacture.

This limited warranty is not an unconditional warranty against all failures or hazards. There is no express or written warranty on Class A MOTOR HOMES or RECREATIONAL VEHICLES as defined by the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators (AAMVA).

AUTOCOMP ENGINES
WARRANTY SCHEDULE

Installer and Owner's responsibilities:

1. The owner's registration card must be complete, including V.I.N. number and returned within 10 days of installation.

2. The owner must provide, upon request, documentation of normal maintenance performed during the term of the warranty coverage.

Warranty Exceptions IMPORTANT

This warranty does not cover:

(1) Engines that are damaged by abuse, neglect or accident.

(2) Fluids, filters, towing charges, telephone calls.

(3) Loss of time, loss of use of vehicle, inconvenience, commercial loss or consequential damages.

This warranty does not apply under the following conditions:

(4) When engine specified for passenger use is installed in a pickup, 4WD vehicle, truck, van or class B* or C* recreational vehicle.

(5) When engine is operated on any fuel other than gasoline except when specified by FourStar for use with other fuel.

(6) When engine block or heads are cracked from overheating or freezing.

(7) When engine failure is due to burned or melted pistons, broken rings, damage to block, cylinder heads or gaskets from detonation, preignition or high operating temperature.

(8) When engine failure is due to lack of lubrication.

(9) When engine failure is due to thrust bearing damage.

(10) When engine or part has been improperly installed or fails because of defects or inefficiency of parts or components not furnished with engine, ( i.e. carburetor, air cleaner, sensors, engine control modules, cooling system, exhaust system, oil filter, etc.).

(11) When Short Block OHV Cylinder Assembly is damaged due to failure of owner's cylinder head and other parts, ( i.e. lifters, rockers, rocker arms, pushrods, valves, etc.).

(12) When engine is used for purposes for which it was not intended.

(13) When vehicle's odometer is inoperative.

(14) When engine is installed in a Class A* Motor Home / Recreational Vehicle.

FourStar Engine and Parts makes no other warranties, express or implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a purpose, except as otherwise required by the laws of the state of sale to the customer, and shall not be liable for any damages other than those required by law.

The warranty is voided on those assemblies where an installation certificate is provided and is not completed and mailed to Four Star at installation.

This warranty is extended to the original purchaser. Any remaining coverage is transferable to a second owner upon written application to Four Star and payment of $25.00 transfer fee.

An engine or part which is furnished as a replacement for a warranted engine or part is covered only for the unexpired time remaining due on the original product.

Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damaged, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you.

This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights, which may vary from state to state.

* Class A, Class B and Class C motor homes/ recreational vehicles are defined by the American Association Of Motor Vehicle Administration (AAMVA).
